OUR STORY
A family’s journey through
addiction, hope and recovery
A stepfather's perspective
—Grahame
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked in finance, but Thrive Recovery Finance was born from something much more personal.
When Sean became addicted to drugs, I found myself in a place familiar to so many parents—searching for answers, making difficult decisions and hoping things could get better.
In this video, I share our family’s story, what we learnt along the way, and why helping other families has become so important to me.
A son's perspective
—Sean
Recovery is deeply personal, and every journey looks different.
In this video, I share my own experience of addiction, rehabilitation and recovery, along with the hope I want others to know is possible.
Together, our stories are the foundation of Thrive Recovery Finance and the reason we’re passionate about supporting others on their own journey.
A mother's perspective
—Rochelle
My journey was focused on getting my boy the help he needed during the years he was using.
I wanted desperately to help him, but ultimately Sean had to make the decision for himself. When that time came, our family pulled together to support him into a three-month treatment program overseas.
Today, my role with Thrive Recovery Finance is focused on offering a sympathetic ear to families who may need someone who understands.
Using our experience to help others
We can’t change what our family has been through, but we can use our experience to help others facing a similar journey.
When a family has decided, with their healthcare team, that private rehabilitation is the right path, the cost can become another obstacle at an already difficult time. That’s why we created Thrive Recovery Finance.
By combining more than 20 years of finance experience with our family’s lived experience of addiction and recovery, we help eligible applicants explore finance options with compassion, honesty and understanding.
If we can help make someone else’s path a little easier, then our story has found a greater purpose.
